Language course for facility service providers

In your role as facility service provider, you are often the first point of contact for guests, clients, and colleagues. A friendly welcome, clear communication and attention to cultural differences make all the difference in this context. This job-oriented tailor-made course will help you to communicate more professionally, in a more customer-oriented way, and with more self-confidence in an international context. Not only will you be working on your language skills in a language of your choice, but you will also gain an understanding of intercultural differences.

    Who is this course for?

    This course is intended for employees in facility services who interact with non-Dutch speaking guests, clients, and colleagues on a regular basis. This includes reception desk staff, catering staff, cleaners, recreation staff, and service staff. The course is available for groups and individual participants.

    What can you expect from this tailor-made language course?

    • Training in the language of your choice: English, German, French, Spanish or any other language you need in your work.
    • Focus on your working environment: No standard materials, but your own working environment is taken as the starting point. You will practise communication skills that are important in your work, from customer-oriented answering of questions, giving directions, and filling in personal details to friendly small talk.
    • Interactive modes of instruction: Think of role-play in which we simulate realistic work situations and writing assignments that you can use straight away in your day-to-day work.
    • Cultural awareness: Learn how cultural differences affect communication and how to deal with these differences successfully, for example in handling complaints or in sensitive situations.
    • Targeted feedback: You will receive intensive guidance and feedback from an experienced language trainer who understands your field of work.

    Content and approach

    We tailor this course fully to your needs or the needs of your team. We start with an intake interview, in which we identify your learning objectives, language level, work situation, and practical preferences. Based on this information, we put together a personalised programme, from an intensive short course to a comprehensive learning programme. Depending on your wishes, this may include the following elements:

    • Speaking to guests kindly and clearly, also in another language
    • Dealing with awkward or sensitive situations in a customer-oriented way
    • Making phone calls and drafting emails
    • Communicating instructions and information clearly
    • Recognising and responding to cultural differences in behaviour and expectations

    You can take this course on our premises, in-company, or online. It is also possible to combine these options.

    After completing this course, you will:

    • Communicate with more confidence and conviction in your chosen language
    • Know how to deal professionally and in a welcoming way with different types of guests and situations
    • Feel more confident in conversations with international guests and colleagues
    • Recognise cultural differences and know how to deal with them effectively
