Language course French for advanced students (halfway to B2)

If you already have an adequate grasp of French and you want to take your language skills to the next level, and you can easily have a conversation in French, formulate an opinion and understand the gist of French texts, this course will continue to build on what you learned at the B1 level and will take you halfway to B2 level.

    General

    At the moment, registration for this course is closed. New course dates will be published as soon as possible.

    Entry level

    In order to qualify for this course, we expect you to have knowledge and skills of the French language at the B1 level. This means that you should easily be able to have a French conversation and that you have an extensive passive knowledge (reading and listening skills). For example, you should be able to formulate an opinion properly and structure a written or oral story. You should be familiar with the conditionnel passé (past conditional) and passé simple (simple past) and be able to talk about cause, purpose and opposition.

    If you completed the preceding French B1 course at In’to, you will automatically be able to progress to this course. If you did not complete this particular course, we will invite you to take part in a telephone intake so that we can determine whether this course is appropriate for your language level.

    After completing this French language course, you will be able to:

    • converse fluently and spontaneously on a wide range of topics;
    • formulate your opinion in detail;
    • understand the main ideas of complex texts, including on abstract topics;
    • write clear and detailed texts on a wide range of topics.

    The course focuses primarily on verbal communication, as well as reading, listening and writing skills. You will also learn more about French culture. To receive a Radboud in’to Languages certificate, you need to attend 80% of the classes.

    This course will help you on the way to reaching language level B2. After this course, you can proceed with French B2.
