Language course German for beginners (A2)

Follow this German A2 language course if you can already understand simple words, sentences and short texts in German. You can also enroll in this course if you have completed our German halfway to A2 language course.

    General

    Unfortunately, it is no longer possible to register for the autumn course. New dates will be announced as soon as possible.

    After completing this German language course, you will be able to:

    • have simple, short conversations on personal topics;
    • broadly follow everyday conversations on familiar topics;
    • broadly understand short, simple texts (brochures, advertisements);
    • write short, simple messages or e-mails.

    The course focuses primarily on verbal communication, as well as reading, listening and writing skills. You will also learn more about Italian culture. To receive a Radboud in’to Languages certificate, you need to attend 80% of the classes.

    After completing this course, you will have reached language level A2. After this course, you can proceed with our course German halfway to B1.

    Approach and content

    German is spoken as much as possible during classes, with Dutch and English as the supporting languages. This means you can take this course if you do not speak Dutch.

    You should count on about three to four hours of individual study per week.

    What do the classes cover?

    Skills

    You will learn to talk and ask about:

    • travel, countries, the weather.
    • different family members.
    • living and eating.
    • politics and engineering.

    Grammar

    We cover a range of topics in this German A2 course, including:

    • The noun forms of adjectives.
    • The comparatives and superlatives of some adjectives (groß - größer - am größten).
    • Which cases follow which prepositions.
    • Some strong verbs and the passive form (es wurde von mir gemacht).
