Language course German for intermediate students (B1)

If you can actively participate in a German conversation and you know how to express an opinion, and you understand grammatical elements like the features of the passive voice, this German B1 course will be suitable for you and will allow you to further develop your knowledge of the language so that you can achieve B1 level.

    General

    Entry level

    This course is the second part of B1-level German. In order to take part in this course, it is important that you possess the knowledge and skills from the previous language levels. For example, you should be able to actively participate in a conversation in slow German and be able to read short German stories. You should be familiar with the present and past tense of weak verbs and a large number of strong verbs and the subjunctive.

    If you completed the preceding German halfway to B1 course at In’to, you will automatically be able to progress to this course. If you did not complete this particular course, we will invite you to take part in a telephone intake so that we can determine which course is appropriate for your language level. Please note that the B1 course can only be taken after completion of the previous level.

    After completing this German language course, you will be able to:

    • have simple conversations on familiar topics;
    • understand the main points of simple texts;
    • formulate personal opinions in a simple way;
    • write texts and emails on familiar topics.

    The emphasis is on oral communication. But reading, listening and writing skills are also covered. You will also learn more about German culture. You will receive a certificate from Radboud in'to Languages at 80% attendance.

    After this course you will have reached language level B1. After this course you can continue with German halfway to B2.
