Language course German for intermediate students (halfway to B1)

This German halfway to B1 course will be suitable for you if you can already speak German reasonably well and you wish to further develop your language skills. For example, you should easily be able to have simple conversations and read and write short texts. This course will continue to build on what you learned at the A2 level and will take you halfway to B1 level.

    General

    Entry level

    In order to qualify for this course, we expect you to have knowledge and skills of the German language at the A2 level. This means that you should be able to have simple conversations in German about familiar topics and specific issues. For example, you should be able to make yourself understood at the doctor’s office or at work, and you should also be able to talk about travel or politics. You should be familiar with the adjectival case endings, and know which case to use after particular prepositions.

    If you completed the preceding German A2 course at In’to, you will automatically be able to progress to this course. If you did not complete this particular course, we will invite you to take part in a telephone intake so that we can determine whether this course is appropriate for your language level.

    After completing this German language course, you will be able to:

    • have simple conversations on familiar topics;
    • understand the main points of simple texts;
    • formulate personal opinions in a simple way;
    • write texts and emails on familiar topics.

    The emphasis is on oral communication. But reading, listening and writing skills are also covered. You will also learn more about German culture. You will receive a certificate from Radboud in'to Languages at 80% attendance.

    This course will help you on your way to language level B1. After this course you can participate in the language course German B1.
