Target group
This service is aimed at lecturers who provide education in the English language in higher education and who are not native speakers, but speak English at a high level (C2).
What will we look at?
For this observation service, you will record a 50-minute lesson or lesson part and send it to our experienced trainers.
Based on this recording you will receive a full lesson report with feedback on aspects such as:
- Appropriate language use for your subject, audience and purpose
- Grammar and pronunciation
- How you motivate students in English, and how they react
- Techniques to facilitate interaction e.g. questioning, facilitating discussion
- Use of and interaction with support tools (videos, slides, etc.)
- How you facilitate learning in the international classroom
After the observation you will receive a detailed report from the trainer with concrete feedback and tools to improve your language and communication skills.
Goal
The observation service offers you the chance to identify problem areas with language use but also to reflect on your didactic skills in English in order to optimise your (intercultural) lecturing practice.
Costs
€ 290,- per observation
Are you an employee of Radboud of Radboud University or Radboudumc?
Then you may be able to access training for free under the language policy discount scheme.
Staff of Radboud University and Radboudumc who do not fall under the language policy discount scheme for this course will receive a 10% discount.
