Please note that this course will be in Dutch.
Content and structure
The course consists of two sessions of three hours. In this practical and results-oriented course, you will discover how to set smart priorities and keep an overview of your work. You will learn to plan effectively, so that you can actually go from idea to result and get a structural grip on your work and your mind.
Before the course, you will be asked to fill in an intake form and complete a short preparatory assignment. The sessions take place fortnightly. This gives you space between the sessions to work on assignments and implement actions, and anchor your new habits in practice straight away.
Session 1 – Overview, focus and tools
In the first session, you will gain insight into where your time and energy go, and what you would actually like to spend them on.
We work, among other things, on the following:
- Understanding how you currently spend your time and your desired priorities
- Practical tips drawn from various time management methods: Which ones suit you, your personality, and your job?
- Multitasking and focus: How does your brain work and how can you manage distractions in a smarter way?
- During the course, you will have time to work on a tip of your choice, because we know that in practice people often don't get around to it, for example: mapping your work, organising your to-do lists in Teams, making a routine plan, or clearing your inbox.
Session 2 – Stress, procrastination and mental space
The second session deals with situations in which you know what to do, but things still turn out differently. You explore how to let your behavioural choices be less influenced by, for example, high demands on yourself or expectations from your environment.
We will work on:
- Understanding what stress does to your body and how to consciously lower your stress levels.
- A mindfulness exercise to experience this in practice.
- Procrastination: how does it work and what helps?
- Examining how beliefs, expectations and demands influence your behaviour. Using elements of Rational-Effectiveness Training (RET), you will explore which thoughts are helpful and give room for other behavioural choices.
- Creating a personal mind map with the tips and insights you want to remember. You will conclude by choosing one concrete new habit that suits you and remains achievable even when the workload increases.
