Content and structure
This course consists of two sessions of three hours and provides you with the tools to write texts that are to the point and easy to read, so that your texts have the intended effect. The course goes further than a list of tips and tricks: you work on your writing skills in a targeted way with exercises and your own texts. In the process, you receive personal guidance and feedback from the trainer and your fellow participants. This will help you quickly understand your own pitfalls, refine your writing style, and make your communication more targeted and accessible.
Session 1: Thinking from the reader's perspective

After the first session, you will be given an assignment for the next session.
Session 2: Clear writing
- Paragraphs that work
- Phrases and words that connect
- Signalling words
- Generative AI as a writing aid
What is the outcome of this course?
After completing this course, you will:
- Write clear texts that are well suited to a wide audience in terms of structure, tone, style, word and sentence level
- Understand the difference between language levels and various text objectives
- Be familiar with concepts such as formal and informal language, low-frequency and high-frequency words, and an active and passive writing style
- Be able to make explicit connections between sentences and between paragraphs, and know how and when to best break up long sentences into shorter ones
