The Whistle-blower Regulations assists staff members and students in reporting a suspicion of wrongdoing without getting into trouble.
Sectoral regulation
The Dutch Universities’ Sectoral Regulation on Reporting Suspected Malpractice came into effect on 1 January 2025. This is a national agreement between universities and trade unions on how suspected malpractice can be reported. The regulation is part of the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO-NU) and applies to all universities and those who adhere to the Collective Labour Agreement.
What is malpractice?
Under the Whistle-blower Regulations, malpractice refers to a serious situation within an organisation where the public interest is at stake. This refers to a serious situation that you, as a relevant person, observe in the context of work-related activities at Radboud University, which in addition to affecting personal interests also poses a threat to, for example, the safety of individuals or the effective functioning of the university.
How to report suspected malpractice
If you are affiliated with Radboud University and you suspect malpractice, you can directly contact the Centre for Labour Relations in the Public Sector (CAOP). This will put you in touch with the independent committee that has been set up by the Executive Board. You can also contact this committee for more information about how your complaint will be handled, as well as for advice and support.
