Carly Crouch appointed as member of the Princeton Institute for Advanced Study

Radboud scientist Carly Crouch has been awarded a membership at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, New Jersey (USA) for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Founded in 1930, with Albert Einstein as one of its first professors, the Institute exists with the sole purpose of offering exceptional scholars the opportunity to realise their potential for discovery in a space dedicated to freedom of thought and, to quote the Institute's founding Director Abraham Flexner, 'pushing beyond the present limits of human knowledge.'

Professor Crouch is a historian of ancient Israel and Judah, with a particular interest in the use of social-scientific approaches to study the Hebrew Bible and other ancient Near Eastern literature. Her project at IAS will bring contemporary research on migration, trauma, and colonialism to bear on narrations of Israelite history and identity.
