Professor of Legal History and Civil Law Corjo Jansen has been appointed as a member of the Advisory Committee on the Assessment of Restitution Applications for Items of Cultural Value and the Second World War (the 'Adviescommissie Restitutieverzoeken Cultuurgoederen en Tweede Wereldoorlog') by Dutch State Secretary Gunay Uslu (Culture and Media) from 1 September.
The Advisory Committee on the Assessment of Restitution Applications for Items of Cultural Value and the Second World War has existed since 2001 and advises the state secretary on applications for the restitution of cultural goods looted during World War II or otherwise involuntarily lost at the hands of the Nazi regime. Besides Corjo Jansen joining, Professor of Civil Procedure Toon van Mierlo (Erasmus University) has been appointed chairman of the committee from 15 August.
