'Frontiers in Conflict Resolution Conversation Series' episode 1: Marijke ter Voert & Lize Glas

In this new conversation series, the Institutions for Conflict Resolution research group invites well-established and young researchers to talk about their research on the topics of access to justice, alternative and digital dispute resolution, and judicial decision-making.

The series begins with a conversation with Professor Marijke ter Voert and Associate Professor Lize Glas about a research project that was led by the research group (with participation from researchers at Leiden University and Utrecht University) entitled ‘The consequences of the Covid crisis for the judiciary and vulnerable litigants.’

In this episode, Professor Ter Voert and (Associate) Professor Glas discuss their recent research on the consequences of the Covid-crisis for the Dutch courts and vulnerable litigants in migration, child protection and criminal proceedings with (Assistant) Professor Anna Pivaty. Professor Ter Voert describes how vulnerable litigants felt when participating in their court proceedings remotely. Professor Glas discusses the impact of measures taken during the pandemic by the judiciary on the fundamental rights of litigants.
