On 28 June 2022 the team behind the research project Heritages of Hunger organised a public lecture event at the Valkhof Museum in Nijmegen. International experts on history and famines spoke on different famines across European history. The event consisted of lectures by Laurence Gourievidis, Jason King, Miguel Ángel del Arco Blanco, William Jenkins, Peter Gray and Emily Mark-FitzGerald, Ingrid de Zwarte and Lindsay Janssen. After the lectures there was a roundtable discussion on the theme ‘Holodomor Heritage in Our Present Times of War’ with Marta Baziuk, Irka Mycak, Anne-Lise Bobeldijk and Charley Boerman.
