Every two years, PhD candidates in the final phase of their doctoral programme are eligible for a PhD Valorisation Grant from the NSvP. The grant encourages PhD candidates in the field of HRM and A&O psychology to give the results of their research a boost towards greater social impact. What still needs to be developed for this, which is often not possible within the PhD programme?
This year, the grant was awarded to Wouter van Zwol, who, together with Amber Kornet (Saxion University of Applied Sciences), is starting a project on the value of practically trained professionals in Learning Communities, entitled “Beyond the blind spot”.
Wouter and Amber are developing a mini-documentary that shows how skilled professionals (such as mechanics and drivers) are indispensable for innovation, collaboration and knowledge sharing within organisations. The documentary will be developed together with participants from the field and distributed via sector platforms, film festivals and social media, with the aim of increasing the impact and visibility of craftsmanship in the labour market.
The Business Administration department congratulates Wouter on the awarded grant.
