NWO grant for Dr. Carmen Dege

In the latest round of NWO's Open Competition SSH-XS grants, RCPS's Dr. Carmen Dege was one of eleven Radboud University colleagues to obtain funding for new research.

Vital Frontiers: Myth and the New Right in Silicon Valley

Silicon Valley leaders use stories of apocalypse, new frontiers, and even a “new human” to promote radical futures that resonate with the new right. This project studies these stories as myths that offer hope and answers to existential questions and fears. It asks why they succeed, how they mobilize collective desire, and how they shape concrete political visions. As a case study, the project contributes to a broader research line that examines how myth can critique authoritarian visions and support more democratic and open futures.
