Sanne Weber (Department of Political Science), Sonja Marzi (Department of Cultural Anthropology and Development Studies), Juul Kwaks (Department of Political Science)
This one-day workshop, to be held in September 2025, will focus on participatory, creative, and innovative research methodologies in contexts of conflict, insecurity, and development. The day will feature thematic panels, discussions and a keynote lecture to highlight the benefits and challenges of these research approaches. The workshop will specifically provide a platform for early-career researchers to present their work and receive feedback. Potential panel and roundtable topics, for which a call for proposals will be sent out, include gender, displacement, ethical challenges, and funding. Collective discussions will explore forming a network and working towards a special issue.
Strengthening collaborations with Macquarie University on migration, integration, and mobility
Iris Poelen (Department of Geography, Planning and Environment)
The GLOCAL micro-grant will allow for the organisation of a research visit to Dr. Justine Lloyd at Macquarie University in Sydney to foster collaboration on common research interests within the themes of migration, integration, and mobility. The visit will center on organizing a workshop on migration-related policies’ effects on people in the Australian and Dutch contexts, co-authoring a publication resulting from this workshop and working on a collective grant proposal. This will strengthen international research collaborations between GLOCAL/Radboud University and Macquarie University, while enhancing GLOCAL's visibility among renowned scholars working on similar themes in a different geographical context.
