Over the past years, we have been working on identity wallets (such as Yivi) and their applications. Identity wallets are on the brink of becoming more widespread due to the updated eIDAS regulation, which requires their availability and use across Europe. This unlocks the possibility to create new applications where identity wallets provide a private and trustworthy alternative to current tools. In this project, we are developing and researching novel applications for identity wallets.
Specifically, we are creating
- a voting platform for small-scale elections and
- a tool to sign documents digitally, and integrating
- identity verification functionality in online communication platforms.
We are approaching this from human-centered design, legal, and technical perspectives.
