The Digital Youth Formation Initiative (DYFI) supports Catholic projects from various European countries in increasing their digital presence and promoting religious education for young people. With financial support from Porticus, participating organisations carry out two-year projects in which they explore innovative ways to make religious education meaningful online. This includes developing online content, training employees in how to interact with young people and involving young people in online and physical faith meetings. In line with this, the projects are investigating which religious themes appeal to young people, what their needs are and how they can best be approached.
Within DYFI, Kaski coordinates the Learning Community, a learning network in which the European projects exchange experiences, discuss challenges and reinforce each other. During online meetings and annual conferences, theoretical and practical knowledge is exchanged about common themes and learning questions that the projects face. This helps to build a safe, inspiring space for reflection, cooperation and growth. In addition to coordinating this joint Learning Community, Kaski also supervises the projects individually, by offering support in monitoring and evaluating their progress (MEL).
The learning processes of the DYFI projects provide valuable insights into ways in which faith communities use digital resources for the religious education of young people and what is effective in this regard. By coordinating these learning processes, Kaski contributes to mapping trends, needs and effective practices in the field of digital faith communication within Europe.
