The European Manufacturing Survey (EMS) aims to map the innovativeness of the manufacturing industry in various European countries and beyond. Every three years, data on technological and organizational innovations in manufacturing and related improvements in performance in the manufacturing industry in more than 12 European countries are collected. The last survey was conducted in December 2022. Based on the data benchmark reports for companies and regional or international comparisons for policymakers can be made. The data are also used for scientific research. The European website is hosted by Fraunhofer (Karlsruhe, Germany).
The EMS team conducting the survey in The Netherlands consists of Dr. Paul Ligthart, Dr. Peter Vaessen en Dr. Robert Kok who are part of the Responsible Innovation and Entrepreneurship centre.
