FA-CT-STEAM is a project that pilots inclusive STEAM activities for ages 9–15, integrating CT and TEFA tools to make learning visible, personalised, and easier for teachers to assess and support each student individually.
These activities will be piloted in classes in order to illustrate how assessment of specific STEAM and CT competences can take place in the age groups 9-12 and 12-15 years old. The activities will also show a wide range of opportunities to organise design based learning in STEAM education and how to implement Computational Thinking. Explicit attention will be paid on inclusion and diversity within classes. Through the integration of TEFA instruments the learning process of each child can be followed and the assessment can be differentiated for each child.
The technology-enhanced formative assessment (TEFA) instruments (such as Nearpod, Kahoot, Socrative, Genial.ly…) will be integrated within these CT-embedded STEAM activities. The main opportunity is that formative assessment and digital technology have the property and potential to make the learning process of the students visible, which makes it easier for a teacher to guide and evaluate the individual student.
