This NRO-funded project focuses on the impact of current interventions to improve tailored education for gifted children. A common misconception is that gifted children will achieve educational success, no matter the educational environment. Gifted achievement actually depends on appropriate tailored teaching with attention for sufficient learning challenge and psychological skills. Educational adaptations for gifted children are not yet optimal, due to the lack of knowledge and empirical evidence. In this project, a consortium, including experts on gifted education, tailored education and intervention research, will aim to investigate and enhance this knowledge.
My PhD project will use a systemic approach including the role of policy, educational, and family actors to investigate working mechanisms and underlying conditions of these interventions.
