Local Langlands programme

The local Langlands programme aims to establish new connections between symmetry, number theory and geometry.

It is all about the surprising relations between very different groups, ranging from Lie groups to Galois groups of number fields. At Radboud University, the research within the Langlands program focuses on several specific topics:

  • Intertwining Operators: Studying the representations of reductive p-adic groups and their covers, and how intertwining operators function within these representations.
  • Formal Degrees: Investigating the formal degrees of irreducible representations of reductive p-adic groups and their analogs for Galois groups.
  • Explicit Local Langlands Correspondences
  • Hecke Algebras and Derived Algebraic Geometry
