Challenge for Education
Increasing amounts of data are being collected about pupils, and this data comes from a range of different systems. Think, for example, of data from adaptive learning tools, textbook software, and pupil monitoring systems. For teachers, it is becoming increasingly difficult to quickly gain a clear and complete picture of a pupil. Bringing data together in a meaningful way is not only challenging, but also very time-consuming. This calls for a new approach.
What Teachers Want
Teachers at Lucas Onderwijs, Stichting Viertaal and Stichting Scala also struggle with these different data streams. They need a single central dashboard that provides teachers with information about pupils’ development.
Smarter Together Through Co-creation
Through NOLAI, the schools have been connected with researchers from Utrecht University and the Arnhem and Nijmegen University of Applied Sciences. An EdTech company is being sought to collaborate on the development of a prototype. Together, they are designing and researching a clear and accessible dashboard for primary school teachers, integrating data from adaptive learning tools, software in use, and pupil monitoring systems.
Current Status
This project began in 2023. Each co-creation project progresses through the development of a concept, a working prototype, and subsequently the validation of that prototype. The results are shared online as quickly and openly as possible so that the education sector, researchers and EdTech companies can all benefit.
