MOCIA’s mission is to promote a healthy brain. We do this by determining the effects of lifestyle interventions on cognition, and by uncovering the underlying gut-brain mechanisms, and from these insights develop smart, personalized support that empowers and motivates individuals to make healthy choices tailored to their unique needs and preferences.
The project is funded by the NWO crossover programme, which has the aim to strengthen the Dutch knowledge and innovation system with public-private partnerships. The MOCIA public-private partnership consists of eight academic institutions and eight societal and industrial partners.
At the Donders Centre for Cognitive Neuroimaging, in MOCIA’s work package 3, we aim to assess the gut-brain mechanisms underlying the effects of multi-domain lifestyle interventions on cognition in older adults.
