Learning and developing yourself is not always apparent for gifted students. This is because some pupils, in addition to their high cognitive abilities (talents), also show characteristics of a learning, developmental and/or behavioural problem (challenges). Usually, we call these pupils (presumably) twice-exceptional.
Project description
This research project focused on this (presumably) twice-exceptional student. Indeed, little is still known about these students and their specific educational needs. Both in science and in practice, there is a need for more insights into recognising doubly exceptional students, matching them to their educational and support needs, and adapting educational provision accordingly. The 'Mind the Gap' research project has attempted to contribute to this over the past three years. The research consisted of the following three phases.
