Research projects
-
MIND-PD - The effects of mindfulness-based cognitive therapy for Parkinson's disease
This project studies whether mindfulness-based cognitive therapy can reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression as well as motor symptoms in people with Parkinson’s disease, and - importantly - whether benefits remain after 12 months.
-
SocialDynamics - The art of navigating social interactions
SocialDynamics studies social anxiety in real-life interactions. It explores how the brain handles communication and emotions in unpredictable social situations to explain why these situations are so challenging for socially anxious individuals.
-
Maintaining Optimal Cognitive Function In Ageing (MOCIA) - A personalised lifestyle prevention approach
MOCIA assesses the gut-brain mechanisms underlying the effects of multi-domain lifestyle intervention on cognition in older adults. This helps the development of support resources that empower and motivate individuals to make healthy choices.
-
Quantative Imaging That (White) Matters
This project brings together experts in ultra-fast image encoding to develop open-science software solutions to extract quantitative MRI markers for use in the clinical imaging of different types of neurological disorders.
-
HEART2ADAPT: Autonomic balance for adaptive decision making
This project, made possible by an ERC Advanced grant, aims to explain how our body's stress affects the way we act under pressure.
-
FieldTrip: The toolbox for MEG, EEG and iEEG analysis
FieldTrip is an open-source data analysis toolbox for MEG, EEG, and iEEG, developed by the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour
-
Understanding the predictive brain in the natural world
Our brain makes predictions about the future based on what it knows. However, what the brain actually predicts has remained largely unclear. This requires examining prediction in the real world, which is much more complex than typical lab experiments
-
Chinese audiobook listening study- Dutch participants wanted
In this experiment, you will sit back comfortably and listen to an audiobook in Chinese mandarin, make your best guess what is happening in the story.
-
SpeakUp!2.0 studie – deelnemers gezocht
Heb je spreekangst? Doe mee met onze studie! Wij willen onderzoeken of het toevoegen van hersenstimulatie de effecten van exposuresessies voor spreekangst kan verbeteren.
-
Play a communication game study – participants needed
How would you communicate with other people without actually talking to them? In this study, we investigate how social anxiety impacts the ability to interact with others, using a computer-based, non-verbal communication game.
-
-
Podcast luisteren studie - deelnemers gezocht
Luister je graag naar podcasts en wil je graag wat geld verdienen? In ons onderzoek luister je naar een aantal podcasts, met je ogen open of dicht.
-
Prediction Study – participants needed
Have you ever wanted to participate in an experiment where you just sit back, relax, and enjoy a good movie? This is your chance! In this study you will be watching a movie while we record your brain activity with magnetoencephalygraphy (MEG)!
-
TRuSt study
In this study we want to investigate the efficiency of a smartphone-based cognitive reappraisal training in preventing stress-induced impairments in effective emotion regulation.

DYNAMIC
A consortium of seven partners, led by the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour (Radboud University)will build the world's first MRI scanner with a magnetic field strength of 14 Tesla in Nijmegen.
