RADAR (Renewing Administration through Democratic Anchorage Reforms)

Duration
1 February 2025 until 31 January 2029
Project type
Research

The project focuses on the question of how European civil servants can counter the decline of democratic standards by shaping policy in a different way, for example through the more systematic use of participatory policy-making and policy experiments. Based on the findings, the project will develop educational materials and modules to give democratic practices a greater role in the training of civil servants.

RADAR (2025-2029) has received three million euros in funding from the EU's Horizon Europe programme. Partners include five universities, three national administrative academies, the French Directorate for Public Transformation and the European Agency for Public Administration Accreditation. The project is coordinated by Taco Brandsen.
