This project studies symmetries in higher algebra to obtain new powerful structures in higher algebra, topology, and their applications to geometry and physics.
Higher algebra is a new form of algebra where the concept of equality is replaced by the looser notion of equivalence. This means that laws of classical algebra do not hold strictly, but only up to continuous deformation. The overall goal of this project is to systematically enrich higher algebra and its applications with symmetries. The project is divided into nine interrelated sub-projects, that address various questions related to manifold topology, topological Hochschild homology, and chromatic homotopy theory.
