Our goal
- Address, and potentially resolve, growing disparities in healthcare access and outcomes.
- Pioneer a groundbreaking transdisciplinary collaboration at the intersection of health inequality and value-driven ethical AI.
- Integrate three disciplinary fields: digital technology, equity, and inclusive health.
Our objective is to reduce health inequalities by using ethical, value-driven AI and digital technologies to create a fairer, more inclusive healthcare system.
Our focus
- Collaborating across disciplines (health, AI, inequality) to develop innovative, ethical solutions.
- Strengthening research and education through interdisciplinary teamwork in the Netherlands and beyond.
- Promoting equal health opportunities by tackling biases in AI, digitalization, and societal structures.
Our research questions
- How do socioeconomic and cultural differences translate into differences in health and wellbeing, and what roles do digital technologies play?
- How can digital care and support/decision-making systems empower persons and groups with diverse backgrounds?
- What role do digital technologies and data-driven decision-making, especially in the context of the AI-revolution, please in increasing or decreasing health inequalities?
- What role can state, and non-state policies play in achieving equal health opportunities, specifically considering the (legal, professional) oversight of digital technologies?
