This project is meant to assess different visions of nature (images, values and relationship with nature) in the citizens of Lima Peru. Through a survey carried out during May and June of 2017, we identified different visions of relationship in/with/about nature in the metropolitan city of Lima, Peru, and compared some of the main outcomes with recent studies in The Netherlands and Vietnam. The results of this project have produced an article in press.
Subproject: Nature's poetry as an educational tool for biology teaching
In this project we carried out a biology teaching module at university bachelor level in Lima, Peru, during two academic terms (the springs of 2017 and 2018). The objective of the module was to trigger philosophical reflection on the notion of nature (cognitive dimension) and to assess if and to what extent the use of poetry contributes to the students’ understanding of nature by adding emotional and conative (desire for action) dimensions. The results of this project have produced an article in press.
