Education
The Radboud Institute for Biological and Environmental Sciences (RIBES) is involved in the biology education at the Faculty of Science of Radboud University. All staff scientists of RIBES have a dual task: they teach and do research.
Bachelor's
The main research subjects are present in the whole curriculum of the Bachelor's Biology. This way, students can experience and learn about all current research projects that take place at the institute. Over the three years of the Bachelor's programme, students can gradually specialise into one of the RIBES research topics.
Master's
The Master's specialisations in Biology cover all research topics of RIBES. The specialisations are Adaptive Organisms, Conservation and Restoration Ecology, Microbiology, and Environment & Sustainability.
PhD
RIBES employs more than 60 PhD candidates. It is important that each PhD candidate receives ample training, not only in research-specific skills, but also in transitional skills. It is our ambition that each PhD candidate obtains their PhD within 48 months after starting their trajectory. RIBES is committed to provide excellent supervision and support to each candidate from the supervisors and from the RIBES Graduate School.
