Bike shed clean-up

Campus & Facilities carries out clean-up operations in the bicycle parking facilities on campus several times a year. During these operations, old, broken or abandoned bicycles are removed. Loose locks attached to racks are also cut off and cleared away.

Warning sticker

Before a bicycle is removed, it will first be marked with a warning sticker. This gives owners time to collect their bicycle. After the specified period, bicycle repair shop BikeWerk will remove the bicycles marked with stickers. This creates more available parking space and reduces the risk of theft and vandalism.

Does your bicycle have a sticker and would you like to keep it? Then collect it as soon as possible.

Sustainable destination

Discarded bicycles are given a new lease of life at BikeWerk. People who are distanced from the labour market are trained as bicycle repairers and refurbish the bicycles. They often combine two or three discarded bicycles to create one good, reliable bicycle.

Thanks to the collaboration with Stichting Leergeld, many of these bicycles go to children from families with limited financial means.
