Lactation room

There are several lactation rooms on campus. Each lactation room is outfitted with a chair and a refrigerator. You can find an overview of all the lactation rooms here:

Comfortable and uniform

All the lactation rooms meet the same high standard of comfort and functionality to suit the wishes and needs of the users. The temperature is pleasant and the atmosphere in the room is warm and calm.

Furniture and facilities

A comfortable chair;
A pantry with a fridge and freezer compartment for safe storage of breast milk;
A table for your supplies;
A power socket within easy reach for extra equipment;
An interior lockable door for privacy and peace of mind.

If you wish to use the lactation room, advance booking is required.

Booking a lactation room

A lactation room can easily be booked via the FACE self service. If you cannot book via self service, the receptionist in the building can make the reservation for you.

Guidelines

You may only book a lactation room for the purpose of expressing milk;
The lactation room may be used by students, staff members and guests (visitors or suppliers);
You may book a lactation room up to seven days in advance;
The standard duration of a booking is 30 minutes;
You will receive an email confirmation after you have made a booking;
you will need to cancel the booking if you are not able to use the room during the allotted time slot.

Book a lactation room via the Self-service System

Log in to FACE with your RU account (https://face.ru.nl/).
Book the room by clicking on the ‘Book a lactation room’ button.
Fill in the start date and end date and time; click on search if you wish to see all of the available lactation rooms on campus.
Select a specific building if you wish to book a lactation room in that particular building.
A list of the available rooms will then be displayed.
Details of the specific facilities that are available in the lactation rooms can be accessed via the ‘More information’ button.
The ‘Show unavailable bookable units’ button will allow you to see the lactation rooms that are already occupied or those rooms that are not yet available for booking. The following information is pertinent to the overview:
- A dark blue bar indicates that a booking has already been made,
- A light blue area indicates the specified period for the booking that is to be made,
- A thin blue line indicates the current period.
Select a room and click ‘Continue’.
Check the booking.
Click ‘OK, close the wizard’.

Change or cancell your booking

If you no longer require the lactation room during the allotted time slot, or you would like to change the time or location of your booking, please do not forget to cancel your booking or change the location or time of your lactation room booking.

An overview of your bookings can be found under the ‘My bookings’ button on the FACE homepage.

Select the booking that you wish to cancel or change.
Select ‘Cancel this booking’ or ‘Change my time and location’.
You will receive an email confirmation of your changes.
