SURFfilesender lets you send large files securely. For example, e-mail traffic about personnel cases with external parties, e-mail traffic with internship companies, other universities, documents with signatures, course files, etc.
SURFfilesender uses end-to-end encryption. This makes it impossible to see the files ‘from outside’. You send a password to open the files. So you decide who has access to the confidential/privacy-sensitive information. In addition, all servers are located in the Netherlands and are subject to European privacy legislation. Uploades files are stored in the Netherlands for up to 21 days.
Go to: https://www.surffilesender.nl/ and log in with your Radboud-number and Radboud-password.
Encrypted sending
Files up to 2 GB can be sent using encryption. Here, you send a 'key' to the recipient via a second channel (for example by phone or text message). The recipient then enters this key in order to download the file. This way, you decide who has access to your valuable research data or other privacy-sensitive files.
If you want to send your files encrypted, check the box for 'File Encryption'.
Securely receive files from third parties
When a third party/external needs to send confidential information to you, you can also invite the other party to do so via SURFfilesender. To do this, select the ‘Guest users’ tab within the SURFfilesender environment. With this invitation, the guest user can now upload files securely within the SURF environment, where you can retrieve them securely.
