The University Library is keen to keep the print collection up-to-date for teaching and research. However, due to limited capacity and space, the University Library can only accept donations to a very limited extent. The University Library is therefore very reluctant to accept donations of printed material.
The UB is interested in the material if it concerns:
- Manuscripts and printed material from before 1900 of interest to the Special Collections or the Catholic Documentation Centre;
- Very recent scholarly literature (<2 years old) that is in line with current teaching and research.
We do not include titles we already have in the collection. Please therefore check our RUQuest catalogue first to see if the UB already owns the book.
Contact us before you donate material
We do not guarantee that donations left unsolicited at the UB desk will be accepted. Because of the many donations that come in, we do not return the material. Especially if you wish to make larger donations, please contact the collections specialists at the relevant Library Information Point first.
