In response to a growing need among supervisors to gain more knowledge about current HR topics, the HR department of the Faculty of Arts annually organises several HR knowledge sessions and HR themed training courses.

Supervisors at the Faculty of Arts are invited through the faculty newsletter to attend knowledge sessions and themed training courses. The documentation used during the HR themed training courses is made available to everyone for reference via a general Teams channel.
Each session focuses on one HR-related topic. An HR advisor spends approximately 1.5 hours guiding interested managers through the most important aspects of this theme. Each HR knowledge session is structured as follows:
In approximately three hours, participating supervisors are taught the most important conversation skills and how to apply them in everyday practice through accessible exercises. Examples include conducting performance reviews or a conversation with an employee who is ill. What can you ask and what should you avoid asking? What is the effect of non-verbal communication? How does interaction affect the purpose of your message? These are just a few examples of the questions that are central to these themed training courses.
