The University Library (UB) keeps its printed collection up-to-date for current teaching and research. Unfortunately, due to limited capacity and space, the UB can only accept offered donations to a very limited extent. The UB is therefore reluctant to accept donations of printed books and journals.
Which donations does the UB take?
- Manuscripts and printed material from before 1900 of interest to the Special Collections or the Catholic Documentation Centre;
- Very recent scholarly literature (<2 years old) that is in line with current teaching and research.
We do not include titles we already have in the collection. Please check our RUQuest catalogue first to see if the UB already has a copy in its collection.
Contact us before you donate material
Donations left unsolicited at the desk of the UB are unfortunately not always included in the collection. Because of the many donations that come in, we do not return the material. Do you want to be sure that your donation will end up well? Then please contact the collections specialists at the Library Information Point of the faculty where you want to donate printed books or journals first, especially when you want to make a large donation. The collection specialists will be happy to think along with you.
