When Eduroam (Wi-Fi) is not working

There are several reasons why the Wi-Fi on campus may not be accessible or may be difficult to access. If you find that you are unable to connect to the network when you do not normally have any problems, this could be due to maintenance or because the network is not functioning properly. Click here to see the different types of system notifications. If the type of disruption that you are experiencing has not been listed here, you should report this problem to the ICT Helpdesk.

If you experience poor reception, this may be because:

  • The Wi-Fi point is out of range. If you cannot connect to the network when you are in a new location, it may be because the Wi-Fi point is out of your range. Try connecting to the network from a different location.
  • You experience loss of connection due to sleep mode or standby mode. Your laptop may disconnect itself from Eduroam when it is in sleep mode or standby mode. Try to restore the connection by restarting your laptop.
  • You have problems with your settings. You may occasionally be required to remove the old connection and reinstall it. Click on the following manual to see how to reset the Wi-Fi Connection

If the Wi-Fi signal does not improve, you can report this problem to the ICT Helpdesk.
