Cabinet cuts are going to hit the university hard. More than 50 million must be saved by Radboud University in the coming years. How can we make sure the cuts ‘hurt’ as little as possible? How can we, as an academic community, stay connected and calm even in times of stress? And does protesting still make sense?  Come and listen to chair of the Executive Board Alexandra van Huffelen, political philosopher Mathijs van de Sande and Gerben Smit, director of Radboud Services. Ask your own questions too!

A vision on budget cuts

Since the budget cuts were announced, it has already become clear that support services (professional services) particularly are going to be hit hard. But drastic changes are also hanging over some academic disciplines. Within the university, how do you decide what is essential and what is not? Is it logical that support services in particular will be cut? What is the university's fundamental task within society, and how can we safeguard it?

Protesting

New protests are planned in autumn. But does that still make sense now that the cabinet has fallen?  Or is it just important to make your voice heard, even if it might not be listened to? chair of the Executive Board Alexandra van Huffelen, philosopher Mathijs van de Sande and Gerben Smit, director of Radboud Services, will discuss this. Philosopher Cees Leijenhorst is the moderator.
