Dealing with the News. Addict or Avoider?

Monday 9 February 2026, 8 pm - 9:30 pm
Lecture and conversation | Radboud Reflects and Student Wellbeing

Venue: LUX, Nijmegen
This programme is Dutch spoken.

How can we best cope with the news? Are you a news avoider who prefers to shut yourself off from all the misery in the world? Or can you never get enough of current events? (Young) people struggle increasingly with how to deal with the news. Conflicts around the world are escalating, and politics is rife with polarization.

While living in denial may not be the best option, being addicted to your newsfeed doesn’t help either. What is a healthy way to engage with the news? Come and listen to students and scholars from Radboud University as they reflect on this issue and share practical tips.

Are you a student at Radboud University, HAN or elsewhere? Register for Radboud Reflects Certificate and show others that you are inspired by in-depth lectures on current affairs.
