European Elections. What is at Stake? | Current Affairs Lecture

Thursday 30 May 2024, 12:30 pm - 1:15 pm
Dutch or English lunch break lecture. Radboud Reflects and VOX

The elections for the European Parliament are just around the corner, and the stakes could hardly be higher. Increasing geopolitical unrest, climate change and a wabbling global economy are all transnational issues that are on the European agenda.

There is a call for a stronger European Union, with perhaps even its own army and a tighter grip on its outer borders.

At the same time, Euroscepticism is on the rise at the level of national politics. What will the EU look like after the elections? What topics will prove to be most influential in determining how the political cards will fall?

Come to this Current Affairs Lecture and find out more about the EU-elections with two Radboud scholars.

Bring your sandwiches, ask your questions, and look at the news from a different angle.

This program will probably be in English.
