Have you ever experienced something you couldn't explain? A dream that shows you something before it happened, or an uncanny coincidence? Across cultures and throughout history, mystics, seers, and visionaries were seen as people with access to other worlds and forms of knowledge, and they played central roles in human societies.
In modern society, we look at such experiences with skepticism. But, whether true or not, is there any value in such experiences? What can they tell us about human consciousness? And if we close ourselves off to these experiences entirely, do we lose an important dimension of human experience?
Come and listen to cultural scientist Sándor Chardonnens artist Zalán Szakács about mystical and supernatural experiences and what these teach us about human consciousness.

About the speakers
Sándor Chardonnens is a researcher at the Radboud Institute for Cultural and History, and senior lecturer at the Department of Modern Languages and Cultures. His expertise lies on the supernatural, specifically interactions between human beings and spirits (demons, angels, ghosts, etc.), history of magic and (dream) divination.
Zalán Szakács is a post-digital artist, audiovisual performer and researcher who explores media theories through the use of light, space, and sound. His conceptual approach is translated into interactive and immersive environments, creating atmospheres that challenge human perception.

Schemerlicht is an evening walk through the Goffertpark in Nijmegen, where art, nature, and science come together around a shared theme. Along the route, visitors encounter audiovisual art installations that give the park its own unique rhythm and color. In collaboration with Radboud Reflects, an in-depth program is offered in which speakers explore the theme from a variety of perspectives.
