Sand is sand and the Waal beach is the Waal beach, right? What you see is what you get. Or not? Because what exactly is moving between those tiny grains beneath your feet, things you can’t see with the bare eye? 

Ecologists Mieke Brinkman and Maarten Postuma study microscopic organisms living in the soil. They’re not only essential for plants, but also for the climate. Come listen, investigate for yourself, and discover the hidden world happening right under your feet.
