Hannah Arendt

Course | Hannah Arendt: Politics and the Individual

COURSE WAS HELD IN DUTCH - Who was Hannah Arendt, and what would she have thought about our modern society? What would she, for example, have said about protest and action, about social media, fast fashion, and the relationship between violence and politics? Hannah Arendt (1906–1975) saw humans as political beings. In her famous book The Human Condition, she describes the importance of civic participation, freedom, and the plurality of human voices.
In this five-part course with philosopher Tim Miechels participants learned what, according to Arendt, is the role of the individual in politics and what makes us human
