My Reality
On New Year’s Eve, Morton and Jim meet online. Morten wants to talk to Jim; he has noticed that the games he plays have started to take up a very large part of his reality, and that he even feels sympathy for certain characters. How should he deal with that? When he finishes talking, the sound of fireworks can be heard in the background. Jim says he’s going to take a look outside and leaves the game. Morten sets off virtual fireworks. Happy New Year, Jim.
A Good Copy?
We tend to see the gaming world as at best a good copy of the real world — but is that actually true? What if you spend entire days online? What counts as reality then? And is this blurring of boundaries a problem? After the film, scholar of religion Seth Bledsoe and programme maker Pam Tönissen will discuss these questions together.
The event will be in English.
