Who decides what God may look like? Why is God male in most contemporary references? Are there other perspectives on who or what God may be?
In 2023, an 83-year-old woman at the Biblical Museum broke an artwork consisting of Ashera figurines. Ashera is a goddess long revered in the Ancient Near East as the female counterpart of the male God. Why does a different view of God's gender evoke resistance?
Join the conversation with theologian Mariecke van den Berg and reflect further on the possibility of the existence of a non-male God or a God who transcends genders.
The language of discussion will be Dutch.
