Erasmus Building, Radboud University| Radboud Reflects and Deel de Duif
How do we maintain an open conversation about the violence in the Middle East when emotions are running high? In this workshop by the Islamic and Jewish youth organization Deel de Duif, you learn how to have difficult conversations. And with it, how to make a fist against polarization, antisemitism and islamophobia.
Dialogue
Do you also find it difficult to engage in conversation about the situation in Israel and Palestine with someone who has a different opinion? That’s very understandable, because we would rather avoid conversations that evoke strong emotions. And yet, it can be very worthwhile to engage nonetheless. That is why the Jewish and Islamic youth organization Deel de Duif have joined forces to help you do just that.
Deel de Duif
Deel de Duif was initiated by Noa (24), Oumaima (22), Selma (26) and Boaz (25), two Islamic and two Jewish students, after the escalation of violence in the Middle East since October 7th 2023. They consciously chose to keep talking to one another and thus counterweigh polarization and hatred, both online and offline. Via workshops, media-appearances and conversations with politicians and policy makers they try to empower dialogue, connection and solidarity.
