Never before have water levels in Dutch rivers been as low as they were this summer. Inland shipping has come to a standstill, houseboats have been left stranded on dry land, and the landscape has turned yellow. Elsewhere in Europe, too, it has been a summer of extremes, marked by wildfires, severe storms, and failed harvests.
Is this the new normal? How should we deal with the consequences of climate change? And why is there so little sense of urgency about it?
Join spatial planning expert Sander Meijerink and climate scientist Heleen de Coninck to explore the impact of extreme weather in Europe and take part in the discussion.
