How can we make room for the human dimension in a world that is becoming increasingly digitized? Digitization seems to be the solution to everything: problems in education, healthcare, and even the justice system. How can we continue to make room for other essential values such as creativity, empathy, caring for one another, privacy, cooperation, or the right to a fair trial? Put on your silent disco head phone and listen to philosopher Tamar Sharon, who argues that digitization has become our new framework for thinking. She points out the dangers of this: is human dignity being compromised?

About the speaker


Tamar Sharon is a political philosopher at Radboud University and director of iHub, Radboud's Interdisciplinary Hub for Digitization and Society. She conducts research into the ethical and social consequences of new technologies. She is currently focusing on the googlization of health, the ever-growing role of tech companies in health and medical research.
