This soundbite will be held in Dutch.
When you think of Nijmegen and protest, you think of the Pierson Riots in February 1981. They were among the fiercest riots of the 1980s. Philosopher Marcel Becker was there as a student. He considers the Pierson Riots a prime example of civil disobedience. Historian and photographer Wilco Versteeg can often be found in the heat of the action. He captures demonstrations with his impressive photographs. Come hear ethicist Marcel Becker and photographer Wilco Versteeg talk about the Pierson Riots, civil disobedience and the power of images.
Check out the impressive photos shot by Wilco Versteeg during all kinds of demonstrations.
